Huge irregularities found during inspection in Hotel Belakasa Jaipur
Veg and non-veg were being prepared on the same platform
On the initiative of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and on the instructions of Medical Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar, continuous action is being taken under the Pure Food-War on Adulteration campaign being run in the state.
Under the direction of Food Safety Commissioner Iqbal Khan and under the leadership of Additional Commissioner Pankaj Ojha, the food safety team of Chief Medical and Health Officer, Jaipur II inspected Hotel Belakasa located on Tonk Road on Wednesday on the basis of the complaint received.
During inspection, filth was found in the hotel. The level of hygiene and sanitation was not found satisfactory. Neither the medical certificate nor the water test report of the working food handlers were found. Veg and non-veg food was being prepared on the same platform in the kitchen. Expired semolina packets found during inspection were destroyed on the spot.
Tagging was not being done on any food item being prepared in the kitchen. Tagging, manufacturing and expiry dates were also not found on the bread packets.
During inspection the quality of the cheese was not found to be correct. The dry fruits being used were spoiled. There was no shelf life mentioned on the displayed bakery items. Rotten onions were being used.
Under the Food Safety and Standards Act- 2006, samples of Paneer vegetable gravy, used cooking oil and cashew nuts were taken for testing, on receipt of the test report, action will be taken as per rules. A notice has been issued to the hotel under Section 32, failing which action will be taken to cancel the food license.
